The Society of American Florist (SAF) each year holds its "Outstanding Varieties Competition" where ornamental horticultural growers display their best products in hopes of earning awards such as "Best in Class" and "Best in Show" along with Blue and Red Ribbon Honors.
Since 1999, Kent's Bromeliad Nursery has developed 35 Award Winning Flowering Bromeliads and has won more SAF Awards than any other Bromeliad Grower in the USA. In total, Kent's has won 41 Ribbons of which 6 are "Best In Class" Potted Foliage/Flowering Plant Awards, 8 - Blue Ribbons, 24 - Red Ribbons, and 3 White Ribbons.
